This is a 7 minute video of the maiden flight. Those of you with
"Faint of Heart" need not watch the last few seconds of the video, as
the B-25 drops out of the sky while on final approach.
It was concluded the port engine had failed, and the TwinSync unit
installed on the B-25 had dropped the starboard engine to idle.
Not knowing this, Tom didn't have the knowledge to cycle the throttle to
regain engine control of the starboard engine, and well, at 7:30
seconds, you'll see the outcome.
That was three years ago, and
a lot of changes have been made to the design. We haven't had a
crash since then - knock on wood ...
