The assembly of the
new wings started September 1, 2005. Check out the new
design on joining the center section. Also, the plans come with an extra
rib,
so you can build either the scale wings at 95" or "go long" with a
102" wing span
for better lift.
Port and Starboard outboard wings are assembled.

New photos of the phenolic tubes glued in place
Fillers between the upper spar and the tube
are glued in place first. Less hassle.
Here is the joint for the wings to go together. Two pieces of
lite-ply sandwich the web spar,
then bottom and top are capped with
3/8" spruce.

Width measuring 86" at this part of construction

wing assemblies with the phenolic tubes and
support pipes in place
The gap in the leading edge will be filled with material to make a
very solid tight fit.
